If you're thinking that a band of harmonica players doesn't sound exciting to you, think again! These guys came to Morton 2 years ago, and the audience was blown away. You really must see this group. They're incredibly talented musicians, and they are very entertaining.
Today's 'Cats, Mo Vint, Bud Boblink and Frank Warner, continue to play the old favorite arrangements of the original Harmonicats, but have also added new stylings to bring them up-to-date with today's sounds.Their routine includes some comedy that can only be done with the harmonica, plus a few other surprises along the way.
Maurice "Mo" Vint on "Lead," performed for many years with The Three Reeds, a popular trio in Canada. He later toured with The Don Les Original Harmonicats for nine years throughout the USA and England, as well as continuing to perform his famous single act, featuring his Train.
Frank Warner on "Bass," has also performed with many harmonica acts, including Jerry Murad's Harmonicats (on "bass," and then on "lead" after Jerry's death), The Harmonica Rascals, and many others. He is regarded as a world class bass player who can hear his bass lines in the music, allowing him to vary his parts as desired.
Bud (Charles) Boblink is our newest member of the "Harmonicats". Bud has been known for years as one of the top "chord" harmonica virtuosos as well as playing all the instruments including the 1 inch mini harmonica. He also has a special flair for comedy having worked with "The Johnny Puleo's Harmonica Gang" and also with the original "Harmonicats". He loves to work right out into the audience when he needs a laugh on his mini harmonica or Scottish routine. Bud is a valued addition to the group.
